Loving Our Country!
Loving Our Country is a long-term listening initiative that travels across New York’s 21st Congressional District to understand how people today experience the idea of “loving our country” — and what it means to feel loved, or not loved, by the country in return. Through person-to-person interviews, the project gathers stories about belonging, and civic life.
My Role
As the team lead, I coordinate our student group’s collaboration with John Brown Lives! and partner universities across New York State. I led the design and facilitation of our pilot listening session on the University of Rochester campus, collecting students’ experiences and perspectives to refine our methodology before we begin broader community fieldwork. This project is currently in progress.
